With summer just around the corner I always start itching to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe. However, I found that by the end of each summer I would usually wear the same thing. Over the years I have become much better about getting a few items that really enhance my wardrobe. I came up with 5 of my favorite summer items that will help give your wardrobe the summer lift you want with out having buyers’ remorse.
1. Denim shorts – This seems like an obvious one but I can’t even count how many years I searched for the perfect pair. They key is to make sure they are lighter denim, not too short, not too tight and a little destroyed. I got really lucky though and found my favorite pair at a local flea market.
2. Floral dress – I have loved wearing dresses ever since I was a little girl! So that’s why you can usually find me in one in the summer. My favorite one I’ve had for a few years and was a little more of a splurg e for me b ut every time the sun comes out I can’t wait to wear it! Usually I think the dresses that look the best are flowy and have more pastel colors.

3. Strappy sandals – This one can be tricky because it is important to have functionality as well as appeal when it comes to a good sandal. I found my favorite pair, by K.Jacques, a couple years ago and I will never be able to go back. They are a little more pricey but totally worth it as you will have them forever, they are super comfy and look great with anything
4. Flannel – Something about a flannel just screams summer to me! My favorite ones tend to be lightweight and darker colors than your classic red one. With that said though I think you really can’t go wrong with any color or style.

5. Statement sunglasses - I’ve always been a fan of big sunglasses ever since my favorite style icons, the Olsen twins, started wearing them! I think they are fun and look good on about everyone. My go to our classic oversized Ray-Ban aviators but currently I also love my 10$ heart shaped ones from Zumies!
